Week of Nov. 19, 2018

English

Students continued working on their memoirs and submitted the first draft for feedback. Next week, students will discuss the MLA format and how to write a title.

Then, they will be given time to work on their 3-5 minute book club group presentation, which will be on the following week. Below is the rubric:

Social Studies

Students started their research for the MUN debate and they discussed the CRAAP test for credible websites.

Next week will be their last opportunity to finish their research and notecards.  During the MUN debate, they will not be allowed to open their devices so they need to print their research.

Science

This week was on the Conservation of Mass and on energy changes – endothermic (vinegar, baking soda) and exothermic (steel wool) reactions. Next week is writing CER for the labs and review for the tests, which will be on the first week of December.

Mathematics

Ms. DeLuigi’s class worked on reflections (Geometry) and Mr. Cargile’s class worked on exponents. Next week, Ms. D’s class will be on reflection and dilation.  Mr. C’s class will be on exponents and scientific notation.
